FAIR Data Principles in Health Research

Medical Informatics

My work is based on implementing and evaluating the how findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) health research (meta)data collected from cohort studies in Germany is. In 2021 - 2022 I was a Fellow at the FAIRplus Fellowship which greatly enhanced my skills and knowledge in data FAIRification. Now I assess and implement already existing FAIRification workflows into unFAIR datasets. This work has me indulging in fulfilling collaborations with other researchers who are interested data FAIRification. I am also a member of the Virus Outbreak Data Network Implementation Network (VODAN-IN) where participate in the FAIR COVID-19 data initiatives in Africa. In this engagement I led the Kenya team in assessing the readiness of the Kenya digital health space to adopt the FAIR data principles in health research.
